NAME

strstr - string search substring

SYNOPSIS

char *strstr(const char *haystack, const char *needle);

 

DESCRIPTION

strstr() finds the first occurrence of the substring needle in the string haystack. The terminating null bytes ([aq][rs]0[aq]) are not compared. It is equivalent to memmem(haystack, strlen(haystack), needle, strlen(needle))  

RETURN VALUE

strstr(3) returns a pointer to the beginning of the located substring, or NULL if the substring is not found. If needle is the empty string, the return value is always haystack itself.
